Key Responsibilities:
- Build, nurture and expand client relationships, serving as a trusted resource and advisor
- Lead the development of strategies as well as cross-community implementation activities for PR and communication programs for client brands and projects
- Drive development of tactical plans, translating strategies into tactics; ensure team deliverables align with strategies
- Own responsibilities for executional leadership of multiple client programs, budgets, timeline and plans
- Lead the production of high quality, client-ready work, including but not limited to project strategies and plans, communications proposals, media and influencer engagement tactics, press releases, backgrounders, feature articles, reports, digital and social media content, etc.
- Keep apprised of clients’ brands, products, services, and market and industry developments – their key issues, competitive situation and industry trends
- Facilitate cross-functional team integration by working closely with team members from a variety of functional groups – client experience, creative, data & analytics, planning etc.
- Own responsibilities for executional leadership of multiple client programs, budgets, timeline and plans
- Manage ongoing team resources to ensure successful delivery of client work
- Anticipate and proactively offer solutions to senior team leadership for executional issues specific to assigned programs
- Manage the development of new business proposals and presentations
- Build and own productive relationships with multiple client stakeholders, interagency teams, clients’ business partner organizations and a diverse array of agency colleagues
- Demonstrate financial acumen in the areas of budgeting, billing and staffing
- Mentor and train junior team members
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in sustainability communications, public relations, or corporate communications, preferably in a consultancy or agency setting
- Knowledge of the communications and sustainability industry
- Seasoned strategic media relations experience and contacts
- Excellent writer and communicator
- Strategic thinking and planning skills with the ability to solve business problems through innovative communications solutions
- Experience in managing integrated communications campaigns and interest in pushing the boundaries in the art of communications
- Proven project management experience, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high quality work that meet client objectives
- Strong interest and knowledge in sustainability and ESG-related issues and policies
- A good team player with experience in managing a team
